Explosive Fun in 1st, 2nd & 3rd Class!

We have been a busy class during the month of November!  In English, we wrote wonderful Winter acrostic poems and decorated our pages with wintery drawings!

We are also looking at character descriptions and after listening to words to describe Ben, Sam and Gus, we drew pictures of these three people.  The children did a wonderful job!

In Religious Education, we read lots of parables.  We learned that a parable is “An Earthly Story with a Heavenly Meaning”.  We made coins to represent the story of “The Lost Coin” and sheep to represent the story of “The Lost Sheep”.

In Science, we have been learning about volcanoes and we made our own volcano using clay, baking powder and vinegar.  We first built our volcano using clay and made sure the crater was wide.

We then put baking powder and food dye in to make it look like lava!

We then added vinegar…

And watched the volcano erupt!!!

In Visual Arts we created owls, cats and fish using lines and patterns in metallic colours…

And finally, we created some wonderful hama bead decorations, which are on display in our classroom.  Well done on a great month’s work this November!
