Autumn and Hallowe’en with 4th, 5th & 6th Class

October has been a busy month in the senior classroom. We have been busy working on the themes of autumn and Hallowe’en. In English we wrote stories with a spooky theme for Hallowe’en. The boys and girls came up with some terrific and terrifying stories!

In science class we learned about materials and recycling, we looked closely at the recycling process for aluminium and glass. We then designed clothes from recycled materials.

In history we have studied Ancient Greece and learned lots of interesting facts about life in Athens and Sparta. Continuing this theme we invented a Greek character in drama and spoke in role as this character.

Returning to the theme of Hallowe’en in art we made these spine-chilling spider webs using silver paint and egg cartons for the spiders.

We also made colourful autumn trees using match sticks and tissue paper.

In Gaeilge we drew these Oíche Shamhna themed pictures after listening to instructions in Irish.

Well done 4th, 5th & 6th class on all your hard work! Wishing everyone a very Happy Hallowe’en,  enjoy the break!
