Senior School Tour

Last Thursday May 26th the senior classes, 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th went to Baltinglass Outdoor Education Centre for their school tour. We had an amazing day there, despite the weather!

We left the school at 8:15 am and arrived at 9:20am. First of all we went and got changed for orienteering.

We got a bus up to the forest. There we were split into groups and had to go around and find different markers in the forest. When we came back we got to climb up walls and abseil down them.

The instructors played some fun games with us on the climbing wall where we had to balance and turn around while staying on the wall. The last person left on it was the winner.

After climbing and abseiling we had lunch at the centre. We all had sausages and chips which were delicious!

When lunch was over it was time to get changed and go canoeing. We all put on wet suits, life jackets and helmets and walked down to the river. There we practiced our rowing skills ……

completed tasks the instructers set us like collecting flowers from the river bank and ….

and got very wet!!

After that it was back to the centre again for the final activity of the day – archery. We all got some practice shots and then had a competition. Some arrows went a little off course thanks to the strong wind but some people managed to get a bullseye!

We had an amazing day. Thank to Ms Wilson for organising a brilliant school tour!
