The Human Heart

In science the senior classes have been looking at the human heart. We learned the names of different parts of the heart and then labelled a diagram of the heart. We also did experiments to see how many times our heart beats in one minute at rest and after doing exercise. We counted our pulse to figure this out! Here are our diagrams and experiment results!

We went to see the Human Body exhibition over Easters – really incredible to see the detail (if also a bit gruesome!)

What an interesting lesson! I dissected a sheep’s heart with a senior class a few years ago. It’s amazing to see the aorta and other parts of this very important organ.
