June in the Senior Classroom!

June has been a very busy month in Wandesforde NS. We’ve had our annual Sports’ Day and Awards Assembly as well as an end of year service in St Mary’s church. The senior classes have been looking at the Olympics which take place in London this summer. We worked in groups looking at different aspects of the games such as history, location, events and Irish competitors.

In art we created these beautiful cherry blossom trees using tissue paper and glitter.

In history each pupil picked their hero from the past. People they picked included J.F.K., Neil Armstrong, Tom Creane and Martin Luther King. Here are their heroes!

In SPHE we worked in groups to create these lovely pictures.

We also discussed how we are influenced in different ways, by different people. Here we filled in the petals of the flowers showing the people who influence us.

Finally it was time to say goodbye to our 6th class. We had a lovely end of year service in the church where the boys were presented with a Bible and Certificate to mark their time in Wandesforde NS. We wish them all the best in the future.

We wish everybody an enjoyable and relaxing summer break!
