Paddy Madden visits our school!

On Wednesday, 25th September, the school were delighted to welcome Paddy Madden, a Heritage Expert to our school. The children were actively engaged in his workshop on wildlife and the natural environment from start to finish!

The X Factor Bird Singing Competition was a big hit for all the children as they had to be judges in deciding which of the birds were best at singing!

Paddy brought a wide variety of resources for the children to see and investigate during “Snoop Time!”

We saw woodlice….

 a kestrel,

dinosaurs and a mini Jurassic Park,

a ladybird home,

birds,

rocks and bones,

bees and butterflies,

water creatures like the water beetle

and of course Ruffus the Fox!

Many thanks Paddy for all the enthusiasm and knowledge you brought to the children in various aspects of the Natural Environment.

The picture below sums up how enjoyable the day was for everybody! 🙂

The workshop was fantastic, I know 4th, 5th and 6th class really enjoyed the day, from Paddy’s talk and viewing all the interesting things he brought along to the very informative walk around the school grounds. Thank you Ms Wilson for organising a great day!

Paddy’s visit was very interesting. I learned so much myself and the children in 1st, 2nd & 3rd Class loved it too! What a great way to learn so much about nature and the world. Thank you Ms.Wilson:)

Apologies – I know it happened weeks ago but I’m going getting around to reading all your posts now
