October Fun and Games in the Middle Room!

The Halloween Holidays are here and we have had lots of fun in 1st, 2nd and 3rd class!  We wrote “Spooky Poems” for Halloween with lots of great adjectives!

In Maths, the children in 1st and 2nd were learning about 2D shapes.  They created their own 2D shape pictures…

We created “Spinning Spiders” in lots of funky colours in Art and also created our “Freaky Frankensteins” that move!

We had a visit from Paddy Madden, the Heritage in Schools Expert in Biodiversity.  The children had a lovely morning exploring the various habitats and specimens that Paddy brought to show them!

On Friday, 27th October, we learned how to make our very own lanterns in a workshop led by Tunda and Shannon.  These will be used at the light festival on Friday, 1st December in Castlecomer.

To celebrate Halloween, we all dressed up in fantastic costumes and had some báirín breac!

We made treat boxes and filled them with goodies for the week that we are off!  I wonder will the treats make it home before they are eaten???

We hope you all have a Happy Halloween and enjoy the week off school!
