A Busy April in the Middle Room!

April has come and gone and the children in 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class have been busy working in all subject areas!

Today, on Tuesday, 26th April, we welcomed Philip and Richie, from the local Fire Brigade in to talk to the children about fire safety in the home.  They presented each child with a fire safety pack and reminded them of the number to ring if there was a fire.  The children then had to complete a fire safety check in their homes for homework.

In SPHE, we learned all about the senses and the children brought in some pictures which were sorted and categorised according to the senses used.  We then played a game where we had to guess objects using sight, touch, smell, hearing and taste!

In Visual Arts, the children created “Spiral Eye-Teasers” and painted Spring Pictures….

In English, the children wrote reports about their long Easter break…

They also created very cool and creative characters.  They described their likes and dislikes and gave them an interesting name!

And finally, we designed our own “Marvellous Masquerades” using lots of bits and bobs from the art press!  Well done boys and girls on a great month’s work!
