May Merriment & off on Tour with Junior & Senior Infants!

May has been another month full of activity in the Junior Room. Our main theme was transport. We learned all about The Airport in Play. We role played going on holidays going through the airport, made items in Junk Art and Play Doh, created items and built airports in Construction, Sand and Small World.

Flying away!
Ready to take off!
Buying in-flight snacks
Working Security!
Making passports
Making suitcases and aeroplanes
Check out our passports and suitcases!
Our Air Traffic Control Tower
Making an Airport in the Sand
Making a runway and airport in Small World

We learned about transport in the past and Amelia Earhart in SESE and made planes in Art with handprints.

Also in Art we made beautiful blossom trees for Summer from tissue paper.

In SPHE we discussed healthy food and drew Healthy Lunchboxes, containing yoghurt, fruit and sandwiches.

In PE we were delighted to welcome a coach from Hockey Ireland to Wandesforde and learned lots of new skills.

Finally we were off on tour to The Chocolate Garden and Rathwood. We learned all about making chocolate and sampled 4 types of it, milk, dark, white and gold! We then made our own chocolate chicks and frogs. After lunch we went on a trip on a train and spotted lots of wildlife and before leaving for home had fun in the playground!
