May Fun in the Junior Room!

May has been another busy month in the Junior Room. In SESE we learned all about fish & butterflies. We labelled parts of a fish and learned all about the life cycle of a butterfly. We even got our own caterpillars which we’ve watched grow bigger and bigger and turn into chrysalides!

In Art, after reading the book, we made Rainbow Fish using celery to print their scales. We also made bright and colourful butterflies to fly around on our walls.

We enjoyed getting outdoors to do some practical maths activities like finding certain amounts of daisies or leaves in the grounds as well as spotting patterns in nature.

We continue to work hard learning our sounds and tricky words.

We were thrilled to head off to Rathwood on our School Tour in May as well. We went on a train through the woods, made our own teddy bears, met Goldilocks and the Three Bears and had a picnic, finally we headed to the playground for some fun with our friends.

Junior Infants did a great job drawing their favourite activity on the tour!
