Happy Hallowe’en!

A very happy Hallowe’en to everyone from 1st, 2nd & 3rd Class!  Over the past few weeks we have been quite busy learning about Hallowe’en in various subjects, including History, SPHE and Gaeilge.  The children made spooky spiders spinning their webs using various materials.  Did you know a spider has 8 eyes but despite this, they can’t see very well!

In Visual Arts, we also created spooky silhouettes!  The children drew witches, cats, bonfires and pumpkins, cut them out and placed them on orange painted paper.

We also discussed staying safe at Hallowe’en in SPHE.  To celebrate the fun aspects of Hallowe’en, the children baked cupcakes and decorated them with delicious toppings!

One of the very kind Mums in our class, Majella, made us all a delicious cupcake each with spooky icing and creations on top.  Thank you Majella!

On Friday, 25th October, the whole school dressed up and each child brought in €2 for school funds.  Here is a photo of some scary pupils in their wonderful attire on the day.  Well done boys and girls.  Have a happy and safe Hallowe’en!
