Hallowe’en fun for 5th and 6th Class

Hallowe’en is just around the corner and the pupils in 5th and 6th class have been doing lots of fun and creative work around this topic.

In English we wrote Spooky Stories with a Hallowe’en theme.

Art has been all about spiders and fireworks, here are our finished pictures.

In Geography, Science and English we have been learning all about the Rainforest, we wrote up information on the importance of rainforests and labelled diagrams of the layers of a rainforest.

We also conducted an experiment to see how water travels to the leaves in a plant. We could see this process in action by adding red food dye to the water.

Ar an bhFeirm was the topic we covered in Gaeilge. The pupils wrote up a story in Irish about a day on the farm.

We are now working on our 5th Green Flag and the theme is biodiversity. With this in mind the senior pupils went on a nature walk to the Discovery Park and noted all the different aspects of nature they observed.

Finally we enjoyed baking Hallowe’en cupcakes on Friday as a treat before the holidays.

As you can see we also had fun dressing up for Hallowe’en!
