April Activities in the Middle Room!

It has certainly been a busy April and now that Easter is almost here, we have been extra busy with lots of fun and games in the middle room!  Have a look at what we have been up to….

In Science, the children have been focusing on Electricity and Magnetism.  The 1st and 2nd Class children had opportunities to explore if magnets worked through various materials!  The 3rd Class had the challenge of building simple circuits and also making buzzers work using a simple circuit….

In Visula Arts and Music, we read the story of “The Willow Pattern”, a story about 2 young Chinese people who fell in love and were turned into doves.  The children designed their own Willow Pattern plates.  Do you have some Willow Pattern in your house?  Have a look at the design on the plate if you do and see if you can spot the doves in the sky!

We also made some Easter treats to take home…

As an Easter craft activity, we made Easter Chicks using wool.  They certainly are very bright chicks!

The children also designed their own, unique Easter eggs which are still displayed on the wall of our clasroom…

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter from the boys and girls in 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class!

I was admiring the willow plates when I was in yesterday, they look wonderful. Well done to 3rd Class for being so polite and helpful selling books and daffodils yesterday – they all did a great job 🙂

  2. Susan Dennehy says:

Thank you Lorna! The 3rd Class really enjoyed the book sale and I’m very proud of their efforts!
