Book Week is a yearly event at Wandesforde School. The children have the opportunity to peruse and purchase books during the week and the school receives a book commission on all books sold.
A Big Thank You to everybody who recently supported our School’s Book Fair. The total amount of purchases made was €955! As a result of this, the school receives €573 in book commission to help further stock our classroom libraries 🙂
On Friday, 22nd March 2019, our Annual Book Fair commenced in Wandesforde National School. The whole school participated in an Art Competition whereby the children had to draw their favourite character from a story or nursery rhyme. Our annual Book Fair runs from 9th-14th March this year. As part of the week we welcomed author David Donohue to our school. David spoke to all classes about the books he has written and we had great fun hearing him say all our names backwards, just like the character Walter in his book can!…
During March, the whole school celebrated World Book Day on Thursday, 2nd March by dressing up as their favourite character in a nursery rhyme or storybook.
