A Warm Welcome Back From 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class!

Welcome back to everyone after the lovely Summer break.  Things have been very busy in 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class in all subject areas!  In English, we wrote about ourselves and created jigsaw pieces…

This year, we agreed that we are going to do our best and “Reach for the Stars!” in all tasks we face…

We talked about the importance of our families and drew pictures of them.  They come in all different sizes!

First class wrote an acrostic poem using the word “FAMILY”.  They did a great job using lots of interesting words…

Second and third class wrote about “Superheroes” with super powers!

We painted pictures of our choice in Visual Arts….

We welcomed Heritage Expert Orla Bates to the school to do a printing workshop with the children.  The children were given the task of making their own bird’s nest using leaves, twigs, moss and feathers.  They did a great job!

On Tuesday, 8th October, we went to the library to mark “Bookville” and got to meet author Carol Ann Treacy.  She told us a story and we had the opportunity to learn how to draw a barnacle goose and a whale!

We were very lucky to have our own performance of “The Wizard of Oz” in the school on Monday, 30th September.  The travelling theatre came all the way from Scotland!  The Board of Management very kindly treated the children to this entertaining, interactive show!

Well done on all your work boys and girls!
