Our Sponsored Cycle 2018!

On Saturday, 9th June 2018, Wandesforde National School hosted another very successful Sponsored Cycle. This year we proudly supported the Jack and Jill Foundation, a charity that provides nursing care and support for children with severe neurological and  developmental issues

Registration started around 8 am and people had the opportunity to have a cuppa and a chat before they set off on the various cycle routes, ranging from 5 km for the children to 100km for the adults!

The children then set off  to do the 5km cycle shortly after 11 with their assigned groups

Finally, the younger children set off on their bikes as well as on foot to the Rectory!

During the day, the children had plenty of opportunities to practise their cycling skills on a simple course set up at the school by Stephen Kerr.  This was a huge hit once again this year with the boys and girls!

They also had a bouncy castle to keep them entertained!

As always, there was a wonderful spread of food for us all when we returned to school.

Thank you so much to everyone who made this year’s cycle a huge success.  A special thank you to Stephen & Olga Kerr and the Parents’ Association for all their planning and hard work over the past number of months! Thank you to all the children for their hard efforts in fundraising, to all who sponsored, donated, registered, stewarded, prepared food, served food, supervised, drove cars, sold raffle tickets, tidied up and supported us in anyway.  Thank You So Much!

We have no final total yet as all money and donations are still coming in! We will keep you posted! 🙂

Enjoy the Summer Break and thank you once again for making the event such a memorable day!
