Another Successful Sponsored Cycle!

On Saturday, 11th June 2016, Wandesforde National School hosted another very successful Sponsored Cycle. This year we proudly supported Aoibheann’s Pink Tie, a National Children’s Cancer Charity.

Registration started around 8 am and people had the opportunity to have a cuppa and a chat before they set off on the various cycle routes, ranging from 5 km for the children to 100km for the adults!

The children had plenty of opportunities to practise their cycling skills on a simple course set up at the school by Stephen Kerr.  This was a huge hit once again this year with the boys and girls!

It was soon time for the cyclists to set off on their long cycle of distances ranging from 40km, 70km and 100 km!

As always, there was a wonderful spread for us all when we returned to school.

Thank you so much to everyone who made this year’s cycle a huge success.  A special thank you to Stephen Kerr and the Parents’ Association for their planning and work over the past number of months! To all the children for their hard efforts in fundraising, to all who sponsored, donated, registered, stewarded, prepared food, served food, supervised, drove cars, sold raffle tickets, tidied up and supported us in anyway, Thank You So Much!  Over €6,500 has been raised for our school and Aoibheann’s Pink Tie has received a generous donation from the event also. Enjoy the Summer Break and we look forward to your continued support next year!
