Summer arrives in the Junior Room!

We have been learning lots about summer in the Junior Room throughout the month of June. We had fun exploring camping through play. We made play doh and junk art camping items, role played on the campsite & made our own campsites in small world and the sand pit.

We learned all about Summer in different subject areas. We created fingerprint ice-cream cones, drew and coloured summer pictures, went on a summer nature walk & sorted out summer clothes.

For Father’s Day we made ties for our dads drawing pictures of their favourite things on the ties!

Our chrysalides hatched and we had 5 beautiful butterflies in our classroom, we looked after them for a few days before releasing them in our school grounds by the flower beds where they will have plenty of nectar.

We had a Teddy Bear’s Picnic trying summer food, ice-cream and strawberries as well as toasted marshmallows like you’d have camping!

Finally in Science we learned the names of different parts of a plant and all about different materials around us.

Enjoy the summer holidays everyone!
