Tangy Treats!
Recently 5th and 6th class were reading various lemon based recipes in their English reader. We decided to follow the recipe to make lemon bars for our class. Here are the boys and girls measuring, mixing, grating and baking!
5th class made the pastry using flour, butter and caster sugar.
6th class then made the lemon filling. First they measured flour and caster sugar.
Then they added eggs.
After that they beat all the ingredients together.
Finally they grated lemons, squeezed in lemon juice and stirred them in. The bars were then put in the oven to bake.
When the bars were baked 4th class dusted them with icing sugar. Each pupil then had one to eat as a lunchtime treat! They were delicious! Well done 5th and 6th class!!
