November News in the Junior Classroom!

The Junior Classroom have once again been busy this month!

In S.E.S.E. the children have been learning about the Native American Indians and their culture. In support of this, the children made their own Paper Plate Indians and Totem Poles!

The children did a listening and drawing activity in Gaeilge based on the topic “Éadaí”

In Religion, the children enjoyed learning the story of “Jonah and the Whale” They did a great job making their own whales too!

The children learned and revised many phonics in English again this month. For the letter “Jj”, the children made their own jelly cake!
We used a strawberry and orange jelly in our jelly cake mould!

In Art, the children made their own rainbows. They had great fun colouring in with 2 crayons in their hand at once. This activity helped to strengthen and support their fine motor skills.

In Maths, the children created their own “Robust Robots” using 2-D Shapes.

We had the pleasure of having 4th Class into our classroom to read the wonderful stories they had written and illustrated with Ms. Madden!

Finally, at the start of the month, we designed our own Christmas Cards which many parents kindly bought to support the work of the children and the school. Take a look at some of the children’s work below!

Well done Junior Room for all your hard work again this month!
