March Madness in the Junior Classroom!
March has definitely been our busiest month this year! We’ve had lots of celebrations to prepare for like Mother’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day and alongside this, we had 2 art competitions to enter as well as our usual curriculum work!!
In SESE, the children have been learning about “Spring”. We made our own “Spring Bouquets” with primroses, daffodils, tulips and daisies to brighten up our nature table!
The children also made their own “Spring Booklets” to support all that they learned on Spring!
In Art, the children made their own handprint lambs using black paint and cotton wool.
The children traced around their shoe to make their own footstep for our display in Religion entitled “Jesus said, “Follow Me.”
Alongside this, the children also designed and created their own poster for the “Bishop’s Annual Poster Competition” based on a scene from the Bible which depicts the theme of “The Gathering”
Entries from Senior Infants Above and Junior Infants Below!
In Gaeilge, the children have been learning all about “Bia”. They had to “Éist agus Tarraing” bia ag an bpicnic!
In preparation for Easter, the children designed their own Easter Eggs for our Giant Easter Basket and they also designed their own baskets to bring their Easter treats home in! 🙂
Finally, congratulations to Ava Donnellan (1st Prize) and Kyla D’alessandro (3rd Prize)who had recent success for our school in a Colouring Competition for Rowe’s Hardware in Castlecomer!
Happy Easter Everybody!!
