Come to our Book Fair!
Our Annual Book Fair commences on Thursday, 14th March until Wednesday, 20th March 2013. The Fair will open from 9.10a.m. until 10a.m. each morning and from 2.10p.m. until 3.10p.m each afternoon.
This year, we will have our very own “We are Writers Book” on sale at the fair for €8. Over the past 4 weeks, every child in our school has been busy creating and inputting their poem or story into our book. This is the first time the school has taken on such an exciting and unique project which we hope will continue in subsequent years based on feedback from our sales and from the whole school body.
Following all the children’s creative writing, the school held an “In-School Art Competition” whereby all the children were invited to design a cover for our book. The standard of artwork was very impressive, however, there could only be one winner.
Congratulations to Scott Neale in 5th Class who designed this very creative and colourful front cover picture for our book! Each teacher also awarded a Book Fair Voucher to a boy and girl in their classroom for their artwork in this competition. Well done to Ava Donnellan and Conall McNulty in the Junior Classroom, Sofia Kerr and Owen Stewart in the Middle Classroom and Abbey Harris and Owen Connor in the Senior Classroom.
All the children’s artwork will be on display at our Book Fair 🙂
In support of books and our Book Fair, the school look forward to welcoming Irish children’s author and dramatist, Martina Murphy, to our school on Friday, 15th March as part of the Writers in School Scheme. We’ll keep you posted on all we learn and do at this storytelling and storywriting workshop!

It’s going to be a busy 2 weeks, however, it will all be good fun having books and food to keep us all entertained! I’m very proud of our “We are Writers” book and I especially enjoyed working with the children from other classes on this project. My class can’t believe their own stories are in a real book!!
Really looking forward to seeing the new book and all the childrens hard work and creativity. It looks very bright and colourfull.Well done Scott on the cover. All the teachers and children should be very proud of themselves.
