Jingle all the way with the Juniors!

As always we were busy in the Junior Room in December. We learned about lots of new topics, in Aistear we explored the theme of Santa’s Workshop.

We built workshops and sleighs in Construction, the Sand area had snow! We built reindeer stables and igloos there, we made Christmas items from Play Doh, in Small World Santa’s Sleigh was packed up and flew around before landing on a roof to deliver toys, we had fun doing word searches and drawing at the writing table and in Role Play we were busy painting, wrapping, writing gift tags, packing and dispatching presents!!

In SESE we learned lots of information about the season of Winter, we wrote information and drew pictures of what we learned. We listened to a story about a snowman, we then followed instructions and drew our own snowmen & finally we learned all about penguins.

Our classroom has been decorated beautifully with all our colourful art work. We painted blue skies and made Christmas Robin pictures. We also used paper plates to make our own Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer!

We were delighted that we had a chance to decorate Christmas Cookies and they were delicious!

In Maths Junior Infants were busy completing Christmas Colour by numbers work.

After our Carol Service we had a special visitor in school, then we had a fun party and movie day!

Finally we have learned all about the Nativity and birth of Jesus at Christmas. We also learned all about the season of Advent and how it is a time of preparation.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
