Happy Christmas!

We have had quite a busy few weeks in the run up to the Christmas holidays!  In 1st, 2nd and 3rd class, the children have been working hard in all subject areas.  In Art, we painted Christmas pictures including Santa, Reindeer, Trees and lots more.  Have a look at our work…

In Gaeilge, the theme for the past few weeks has been “Ócáidí Speisialta” or “Special Occasions” including “An Nollag” or “Christmas”.  The children have learned to create lots of phrases based on the vocabulary learned.

In Religion, we listened to the Christmas Story and depicted this in collage form….

We also made biscuit cake for all the mums and dads in our class and wrapped the edible treats in cellophane with bows on top.  Here are pictures of the children with the biscuit cakes, ready to be chilled…

In Art, we also made Christmas cards and decorated our own 3d Christmas trees…

Finally, we had an in-class art competition.  The standard of work was extremely high and 4 lucky pupils received a small selection box for their wonderful work.

Well done boys and girls!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all, from the boys and girls in 1st, 2nd and 3rd class!
