It is great to be back to school and the children in 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class have been working so hard over the past 2 months in all subject areas! Have a look at some of the photos of what we have been up to! We drew pictures of our “Summer Memories” in early September…
We drew fantastic “Self-Portraits” of ourselves!
The children drew lovely patterns and pictures on their names…
To mark Roald Dahl Day on 13th September, in English, we read Roald Dahl’s “Esio Trot” and the children really enjoyed it! The children wrote and drew about their favourite part of the story!
We read a poem called “The Squirrel” and decorated the poem…
In SESE, Ms. Harper, who was teaching the boys and girls for most of September and part of October, taught the class lots about Autumn, the weather, animals, hibernation and migration. We went on a nature walk using the lovely environs of our school.
We created a beautiful Autumn display with lots of the creatures that we have learned about!
To celebrate and mark Kilkenny Day on 10th October, the children designed very “Cool Cats” for our classroom!
We also made “Hot Air Balloons”!
We created and designed “Beautiful Butterflies”….
To celebrate the wonderful Harvest, some pupils in 3rd class helped decorate the Church for the Harvest Festival….
They also helped plant spring bulbs in the Church grounds and the school grounds!
The children made “Spooky Frankensteins” that are on our classroom wall…
We made chocolate apples and of course had to dress up on the last day of school….these monsters and ghouls gave me a big fright!!
Thank you Ms. Harper for all your work over the past few weeks and well done to the boys and girls too for a great effort!
