Amazing work this April in the Junior Classroom!

April has been a short month however the Junior Classroom have covered a lot of new and exciting topics!

To begin with they have been busy learning about “Frogs”. In Assembly with Mr. Boland, the children sang a song with percussion to the whole school about “Twenty Froggies”. They all did a great job so well done to all!

In Science, the children have been learning about the lifecycle of a frog as well as some interesting facts about frogs. Did you know that a frog can jump 20 times its own body length? Take a look at their “Itsy Bitsy Frog Booklets” on display in the classroom!

In Art, the children made frogs out of toilet roll holders!

As well as this, the children learned how to take a line for a walk!! Take a look at some of the pathways the children created with their line.

In Gaeilge, the children have been learning the phrase “Is féidir liom…” to support work covered to date on actions and hobbies. They each got to draw one thing that they can do. Take a look at their lovely drawings!

Finally in Music, the children learned the words of the song “How much is that doggie in the window?” They each had to draw a dog which they think might have been in the window for this song!

In History, the school have been busy learning about the Titanic which sank 100 years ago. The library has organised an art competition on the theme of the Titanic. Take a look at our entries from the Junior Room
