A Fun-Filled Spring in the Middle Room!

This term has been jam-packed with lots of fun activities and the children have worked very hard!  1st, 2nd and 3rd Class were very lucky to have Ms. Kathy Ryan teaching them for 3 and a half weeks in February!  Thank you Ms. Ryan for all your hard work with the children!

In Art, the children learned to weave hearts to celebrate St. Valentine’s Day…

To thank the mums and grandmothers in our lives, the children made paper flower bouquets!

In Maths, the children learned all about 2D and 3D shapes.  They even constructed their own 3D shapes with various facts written down about them also..

In English, the children read “George’s Marvellous Medicine” by Roald Dahl, which they thoroughly enjoyed!  They then created their own special medicines and wrote down the ingredients and method used when creating them!

In S.E.S.E., the 3rd Class pupils completed projects on a variety of topics that interested them.  They had to present them to the class and be able to answer questions on them also.  They did a wonderful job!  As a treat for all their hard work, they each received an Easter Egg to enjoy on Easter Sunday!

To celebrate World Book Day on Thursday, 3rd March, the children dressed up as their favourite character.  The creativity was fantastic!

We also had a visit from Pat Moylan on Friday, 11th March and he spoke about the events leading up to 1916.  The children had plenty of opportunities to dress up in the clothes of that era and hold a few guns and other items!

In English, the children wrote lovely Easter Acrostic Poems..

In Gaeilge, we learned an action song called “Lá Le Pádraig” and decorated our own St. Patrick’s Day paper plates!

Happy Easter everyone!  See you all in April!
