We are a very busy school! Each year as a treat, we all go to the cinema at Christmas. This is kindly paid for by the Board of Management and we have a fantastic day. Sometimes we hold a Carol Service or Christmas Play in St. Mary’s Church just before the Christmas holidays and then come back to the school for a party. All the parents are invited back for tea/coffee and to see our Christmas art and craft.
Glanbia in Castlecomer were holding a craft fair on 13th December and Wandesforde School had a stand at it. The whole school made some Christmas decorations out of clay and painted them. We all went carol singing in the Demense on 10th December. We sang many carols including ‘Away in a Manger’, Jingle Bells, Little Donkey, We wish you a Merry Christmas, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman. We sang them all twice. At the start of November 2010, each member of the school prepared a shoebox for Team Hope which will go to third world countries.
