Our Book Week Art Competition & Martin Brennan visits our school!

As part of our Annual Book Fair in March, the children take part in an In-School Art Competition based on the theme of books.

This year, the Senior Room designed their own book covers using watercolours for their class novel, “Under the Hawthorn Tree.” Didn’t they do a great job?

The Middle Room designed a front cover for their favourite book. Well done on some beautiful illustrations!

Finally, the Junior Classroom designed a front cover for their favourite fairytale. They also did a great job!

On Friday, 28th March, Kilkenny author, Martin Brennan aka Edward Crane visited our school to speak with the children about storywriting as well as share his novels “The Havishams Trilogy” with us. These books are on sale at our Book Fair for €10 each.

The school would like to say a Big Thank You to Martin for his storywriting workshop which the children and teachers really enjoyed. Martin very kindly presented the winners of the art competition with their voucher for a free book from the Book Fair.
