Fantastic February Work in 4th, 5th & 6th Class!!

The shortest month of the year has flown by and once again the senior pupils have been busy completing work in lots of different areas.

In History we learned all about different explorers including Christopher Columbus, Ferdinand Magellan & Vasco De Gama. We also mapped their various journeys around the world!

We studied 3D shapes in Maths and made our own cones, cubes, pyramids & prisms. 6th class made isohedrons which have 20 sides!

In Art we made clay tiles and etched designs into them before painting them in bright colours.

We used our knowledge of symmetry from Maths to create these colourful symmetrical designs!

We were busy in English, 4th class read a story called ‘Glooskap and the Giant’ and illustrated these scenes from the story. They added their own adjectives to the pictures.

5th & 6th class designed posters for a concert they read about in their readers.

In SPHE we were learning about Staying Safe and after discussing the topic groups designed posters to show how people can stay safe at different activities.

Finally in Gaeilge we were learning about the topic ‘Mé Féin’ and drew these pictures of activities we do through the day from instructions in Irish.
