A Busy Autumn in the Middle Room!

We have had a busy Autumn since our return to school in late August!  The children wrote about their hot Summer holidays and what they got up to!  We also painted pictures of our happy Summer memories.

We wrote about ourselves and made bunting with the paper..

We drew Self-Portraits in Art…

In Art we learned how to weave paper….

We made Hot Air Balloons using crepe paper…

We visited the library to hear Wayne O’Connor, an illustrator talk about his work.  He told us a folk story from China.

We had a visit from basket weaver Paul Finch during the month also.  The children weaved their own fish using long thin pieces of willow.

We were very lucky to have Ms. Róisín Nolan teaching the children for the month of October as part of her teacher training.  Ms. Nolan planned lots of fun activities for the children and here are a few photos of some of the lovely work the children did!

In Maths, the children learned about 2D shapes and created shape pictures…

We enjoyed learning about Halloween and tasted some báirín breac.  A lucky boy in second class found the ring!

We made some creepy cakes to enjoy!

Happy Halloween everybody from 1st, 2nd and 3rd class pupils!
