December has been as busy as ever in the Junior Room! Check out what we’ve been up to below.
In Art we made Nativity silhouettes and Christmas Tree Snowglobes. We used shaving foam to create puffy paint for the snow!
In SESE we learned all about the topic of Winter. We watched a video about Polar Bears and labelled them and we discovered information about animals which live in the North and South Poles and located the North and South Poles on a globe.
We learned about the explorer Tom Crean and why it is important to look after and feed garden birds in Winter.
We also heard the story of The Spider and the Christmas Tree. It tells the story of a poor family who have no decorations for their tree but when they wake on Christmas morning spiders have built webs in the tree which glisten in the light! We made our own glistening trees like the family had.
In RE we learned the story of the first Christmas when Baby Jesus was born in Bethlehem.
This month in Maths Junior Infants were playing games about numbers 1-5 which they learned this term and Senior Infants learned positional language using words like beside, on, over and between. They drew Rudolph flying using these words so he was in the correct place.
Junior Infants were also learning new letter sounds, including l.
