Autumn & Halloween Fun in the Middle Room!

We have had a busy month in October in the run up to the Halloween Break!  The children have been learning about the season of Autumn in Science, Gaeilge and English.  We wrote our own explanation of what happens in this beautiful season…

In Visual Arts, we created “Autumnal Art” using fabric and fibre…

We learned a poem in Gaeilge called “Duilleoga Deasa” and created our own trees with duilleoga deasa….

In English, we learned all about adjectives.  We picked our favourite character from a book and had to think of 3 adjectives to describe him/her.  The children were very creative in their descriptions!

In Music, the children listened to a piece of music called “The Witches’ Dance” by Robert Johnson and responded to it by drawing a picture…

The children are thoroughly enjoying the Music Generation Programme with Clare Kilkenny each Thursday!

In Art, we created Spooky Silhouettes!

In SPHE we discussed staying safe at Halloween and the children drew posters to show how this can be done…

In Maths, we looked at 2D shapes and created our own overlapping shape pictures…

First class wrote a spooky Halloween acrostic poem with their teacher!

In Visual Arts, we created “Spinning Spiders”…

We dressed up for Halloween!  Can you spot where Wally is?!  Happy Halloween to you all!
